On May 21st, at 12:38 am, The Ronkonkoma Fire Department was toned out for a structure fire. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Diaz, notified dispatch of a working house fire. First due crews on 5-24-5, made an aggressive interior attack and knocked down the main fire load in the basement. Second due crews helped contain the fire on the first and second floors. At 1:19 am, Chief of the Department, Kevin Murray placed the scene under control. Scene was turned over to the town fire marshal for investigation. One member was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with minor injuries.
