The Ronkonkoma Fire Department was activated for an Automatic Commercial Fire Alarm at 0023 HRS on Sunday morning. Upon arrival of the first unit, the OIC noted smoke coming from the roof of the structure and immediately notified incoming units. Under the charge of Ex-Chief/Captain Karl Krumsiek, the first due Engine crew made seamless entry to the structure, located and put water on the fire under heavy smoke conditions. After the fire was extinguished, the crews worked to ventilate the building in order to allow the smoke to evacuate. The scene was deemed under control at 0057 HRS and fter the building was cleared of all smoke and no further hazards were noted, the crews returned to quarters at 0145 HRS. No civilian or firefighter injuries occurred at this incident. ***Photo Credit: Bryan Lopez from EMEREGENCYPATCHES** |
